Trango is a rare climbing film that focuses less on summits and more on the mystery of why people climb. As Norwegian legend Ralph Høibakk puts it, "life‑threatening is life‑giving," and Robert Caspersen says in the film that climbing is not a desire to die but to live intensely. It is these reflections on paradox that make Trango more than a climbing film, a film about dilemmas and choices, about ego, love, and care, where motives can remain hard to fully understand, even for those involved.
